Basic Info

Ilvana Karaga

Ilvana Karaga works as a coordinator at KVINFO's Mentor Network in Esbjerg, and has a bachelor in social work. Her final bachelor project was about mentoring in the employment effort towards refugee and immigrant women. She also has supplementary training as an integration consultant.

Since January 2009 Ilvana is project manager for the “mentor network for men”, a new project under KVINFOs Mentor Network. This was started as a response to contacts made to the network by refugee and immigrant men in need of a mentor. KVINFOs Mentor Network in Esbjerg therefore applied for funds from The Local Employment Council in Esbjerg to start a local project for men which runs to the end of year 2009.

Ilvana is also vice president of The Council of Integration in Esbjerg. The Council’s primary purpose is to advise the Town Council about matters related to integration of ethnic minorities in Esbjerg Municipality and the municipality's integration efforts.

Originally Ilvana is from Bosnia and Herzegovina. She fled the civil war in Ex-Yugoslavia with her family in 1992.
