Basic Info

Heba Ali

In July 2008, Heba joined AWTAD, the Egyptian Hub of the Middle East & North Africa Businesswomen’s Network (MENA-BWN, www.menabwn.org), as the youngest Network Hub Program Manager in the region. AWTAD (the Association for Women’s Total Advancement and Development), which a non-profit organization whose mission is to “empower and engage the community, to mobilize the role of women as nucleolus development agents, through effectively leveraging Egypt's social and human capital,” is also a founding member of the MENA-BWN. The MENA-BWN has eleven member countries, known as "Network Hubs”, providing a forum for peer learning, information exchange, business development and access to education, resources and tools, all of which are supportive of expanding economic opportunities and building networks in the MENA region.

As Network Hub Program Manager, Heba works to expand, strengthen and support the growth of AWTAD and the MENA-BWN as a whole. Stating that her position was “love at first sight”, Heba's job combines her two passions: business management and sustainable development. At AWTAD, she specializes in strategic planning, program development, management, and marketing; including the extremely successful "Start Me Up" Mentoring Program. In addition, Heba also works on organizing AWTAD’s Annual US Corporate Ambassadors Conference, in collaboration with Vital Voices Global Partnership.

Heba has a Business Degree from the German University in Cairo, where she majored in International Business and Strategic Management, and wrote her thesis on social capital and entrepreneurship as a source of national wealth. She is also an active member of Bldna Foundation for Developing Civic Society, and volunteers in various social development activities. Heba previously held an internship in the Human Resources Department of Siemens, as well as in the Corporate Communications and Public Affairs Department of CEMEX, where she focused on several Corporate Social Responsibility projects; including an initiative for educating girls in Assiut.
