Mentoring and Networking Strategies in Educational Settings
Breakout session.
Room: Holberg.
Mentoring has been long used in efforts to raise rates of student retention and to promote educational achievement. However, business administration, technology and science are all areas in which a high percentage of people are involved, but very few women or individuals from visible minorities occupy leading or executive positions.
In response to this trend, programmes using mentoring and/or networking are being designed and implemented to create new opportunities for entire groups of people.
Presenters:
- Heba Ali, Project Manager for the Network HUB and the Steps into the Future Mentoring Program in Cairo (Egypt)
- Nancy Smith, Director of Initiatives with the Salzburg Global Seminar and project manager for the European Muslim Professional Action Network (CEDAR);
- Carina Sild Lönroth, Program Manager of the Nightingale mentoring program (Sweden)
Round of Q&A. Moderator: Mette Fenger.
