Breakout session.
Room: Holberg.

Efforts should be made to motivate volunteers, mentors and mentees; to explain the needs addressed by mentoring programmes; to make clear what is expected of them and what they (and their communities) can gain from active citizenship.

Some strategies for ‘telling the story' of challenges and triumphs experienced by volunteer mentors and mentees include: public speaking to professional organisations,
articles in the mass media, organising exhibitions in museums, and raising awareness via Internet websites.

This breakout session includes live testimonies of mentors and mentees, role models, and examples of best practices.
