The phenomenon of mentoring has undergone significant transformation in the past 25 years. Information continues to proliferate in the mentoring field, covering areas such as education, personal development, gender and diversity, business, etc. Are institutions and organizations merely ‘jumping on the mentoring - networking bandwagon' or is there careful appraisal of existing programs in order to draw conclusions as to the value of formal mentoring programs?
